On-Location

BISON is a London-based studio delivering on-location podcast and video production, filming interviews and podcast series in any setting to bring the audience into your world.

Productions have taken us to Milan Design Week, dressing rooms at the O2 Arena, Olympic sporting facilities, Brian Eno's personal studio, homes, hotels, conferences and more. Each location brought something different to the conversation, and that is precisely the point.

On-location productions can be scaled to suit the brief. Sometimes it’s a full multi-camera crew with live switching and broadcast-quality audio for a live podcast or flagship series. Other times, a single camera and handheld microphone is all that’s needed for something more intimate and in-world.

Our approach is always to match the level of production to the story and budget, whilst aspiring to the highest quality possible.

Set Your Scene

Bring Home The Bacon, hosted by fitness influencer Connor Minney, is an ongoing interview podcast in the mould of Diary of a CEO, unfiltered conversations with people who've built something real.

The brief called for a setting that matched the format: honest, unpolished, no pretence. A studio would have worked against that. Instead, every episode is filmed on location at Billy's Cafe, a working greasy spoon, the kind of space that encourages people to get down to brass tacks.

BISON runs camera and audio on every episode, holding broadcast-standard sound in a noisy, dynamic environment. It's the location choice that makes the show work, backed by the craft to pull it off.

Different Room,
Same Standard

Standard Innovation, a music data business, is the team behind Music Moneyball, a podcast for an audience of investors, executives and data specialists. BISON produces the series on an ongoing basis, with a dedicated producer attached to the show.

For their networking and live podcast breakfast at 180 The Strand, BISON extended the format into a live event: behind-the-scenes photography, guest interviews, and a full live recording of the episode, delivered to broadcast standard on the day.

It's a good example of what on-location podcast production can add to a series otherwise recorded in the studio or remotely: the ability to step outside the usual format when an occasion calls for it, without any drop in quality.
